Before you start making the recipe toast desiccated coconut. I toasted mine in the oven at 220 degrees for about 5 minutes, stir/toss, then 5 more minutes until golden brown. Watch it carefully, it can burn quick.
You can use any nut butter you prefer but i suggest almond butter. This nut butter along with maple syrup gives the taste of caramel.
